This role is to be working within the Retail Financial Services Business Unit of our client and will encompass responsibility for developing client propositions, managing existing client relationships and breaking into new accounts. The role will include overall client ownership and the ability to sell the client’s full range of service offerings.
You are likely to spend most of your time on business development activities and proposition development during the first few months, however delivery accountability and management for the relevant accounts is a key part of the role as well.
Responsibilities
• Take responsibility for management of client relationships and develop new business within our existing client base or to new clients.
• Accountability and responsibility for the successful delivery of client engagements.
• Drive and contribute to the client proposition development and tailor market offerings to client needs
• Report internally on delivery and account development progress, including bid status and delivery risks and issues.
• Take responsibility for people management and supporting consultants in their career development within engagements.
• Contribute to the development of the Retail Financial Services practice, participating in business planning, marketing, capability development and recruitment.
The Individual
• You will have a strong multi year track record working with UK insurers. Previous experience of working for a Management Consultancy preferred
• General Insurance experience is preferred, however Life & Pensions will also be considered. Experience of the Lloyd’s (London) Insurance Market will also be of benefit.
• Awareness of business challenges in the insurance sector and an ability to interpret market trends.
• Technology or business backgrounds will be considered however you should have strong commercial awareness and be able to manage projects and the overall client relationship.
• Previous experience preferred (but not essential) in one or more of areas of Information Management & Analytics, Risk Management, Sales, Marketing & CRM, Regulatory Compliance or Fraud prevention.
• You should be able to operate across the entire relationship management lifecycle from identifying new opportunities, managing proposals, negotiating contracts and be accountable for delivery of the solution or even manage it.
• Evidence of business development capability, commercial acumen and entrepreneurial flair to enable a significant contribution to account development.
• Ability to build and manage client relationships in a consultancy context and balance competing priorities of sales, delivery and client satisfaction.
• Proven track record in project delivery of consulting services within major insurance organisations. Typical project sizes vary from £50k to £1m.
• Candidates would also need the ability to combine the client’s services and software into client facing propositions that solve specific business problems.
